Dear Progressive Caucus Members,
Every two years, the caucuses of the California Democratic Party are required to apply for certification/recertification and part of that process is for each caucus to review its bylaws to make sure they are in compliance with the Party’s requirements. The Board of the Progressive Caucus has recently completed this review and drafted amendments to the Bylaws in order to meet these requirements for recertification.
The linked document shows the material amendments/revisions to the Bylaws of the Progressive Caucus of the California Democratic Party. Additional, non-material changes, such as spelling and grammatical amendments may also be included in the recertification packet provided to the CDP. These changes are only included in the full redline of the Bylaws to be submitted. If you would like a copy of the redline, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and a copy will be sent to you.
As is outlined in Article IV: Procedures, Section C: Amendments and Revisions to Bylaws, 1.c., the Officers must provide notice of intent to amend or revise these Bylaws at least thirty (30) days prior to the meeting where the amendment(s) will be presented to the general membership for approval and that a copy of the proposed changes/amendments is provided with that Notice.
As the next Caucus meeting shall be on either Friday or Saturday February 23rd or 24th, this letter shall serve as Thirty (30) days’ notice of the upcoming meeting, as well as intent for Caucus membership to vote on these amendments/revisions. The following constitutes a copy of the amendments/revisions of the Caucus Bylaws for the membership’s consideration.
If you have any questions or concerns, you may respond to this email and one of the Officers will get back to you.
